State to Study Gender & Race Barriers in Spokane Business

Please join the state of Washington and its consultant, Colette Holt & Associates, for public meetings to introduce Washington State’s Disparity Study. Washington State is conducting a Disparity Study of its minority-, women-, and veteran- owned businesses (M/W/VBEs).

The study will examine race- and gender- based barriers to full and fair opportunities to compete for its prime contracts and associated subcontracts, the utilization of minority-, woman- and veteran-owned businesses, the state’s outreach efforts and its overall contracting practices.

In an effort to ensure every opportunity for public participation in the completion of this study, Washington State will host an informational meeting in Spokane on June 8.

These meetings will provide:
  • An introduction to the study team
  • A presentation on the legal and regulatory standards for contracting inclusion programs
  • Information regarding the study process and timeline for completion
  • How to provide further input
